Cognizant Technology Solutions reported a 14 per cent rise in net profit to $645 million for the second quarter that ended June 2025, compared to $566 million in the same quarter last year.

Revenue stood at $5.25 billion, up 7.2% in constant currency terms, above the high end of their guidance range. The company beat analyst estimates and the higher end of its own guidance.

The company’s recently completed acquisition of US-based engineering firm Belcan LLC, contributed roughly 4 per cent to the y-o-y revenue growth. The company expects an inorganic growth of 200 basis points in the third quarter.

For the full year 2025, the company upped its guidance on the lower end and expects to clock $20.7-$21.1 billion, a growth of 4 per cent to 6 per cent on CC terms.

“Our second quarter revenue performance exceeded the high end of our guidance range, underscoring the effectiveness of our strategy to build a resilient and durable portfolio that positions us to win in the AI era,” said Ravi Kumar S, Chief Executive Officer, Cognizant. Kumar also added that the company’s investments in talent, platforms and AI infrastructure drove Cognizant’s fourth-straight quarter of organic year-over-year revenue growth and another quarter of margin expansion. 

Segment Revenue 

Out of the total revenue for the quarter, the health sciences segment contributed $1.6 billion, while financial services posted $1.5 billion. Products and resources and communications, media & technology reported segment revenues of $1.3 billion and $800 million, respectively. North America continued to be the biggest market at $3.9 billion, followed by Europe ($1 billion) and the rest of the world ($300 million).

Human resources

Cognizant reported a headcount as of June 30, 2025, of 343,800, an increase by 7,500 on both a year-on-year and sequential basis. Voluntary attrition for tech services on a trailing 12-month basis was 15.2 per cent, compared to 13.6 per cent for the period ended June 30, 2024.

Bookings

On a trailing twelve-month basis, bookings increased 6 per cent year-over-year to $27.8 billion, which represented a book-to-bill of approximately 1.4x. Bookings in Q2 increased 18 per cent year-on year. The company’s bookings for the quarter included six large deals (over $100 million), of which two deals had a total contract value over $1 billion.
