Laxmi Dental Limited said its board has approved an investment in IDBG AI Dent Global Private Limited, a Gujarat-based health-tech company focused on artificial intelligence applications in dentistry, for an undisclosed sum.

On completion, the dental products company Laxmi Dental will hold 58 per cent capital in AI Dent. The acquisition aims to strengthen the company’s research and development and expand its technology offerings, it said.

Outlining the role of AI, it said, “from diagnostics to treatment planning, AI tools are improving decision-making and clinical outcomes.” Through this investment, Laxmi Dental aims to build local capability in AI for dental care, enabling dentists to adopt faster, data-driven processes while reducing procedural complexity for patients. “The focus is on creating systems that support dentists in delivering consistent care and give patients improved access, accuracy and clarity in diagnosis and treatment.”

Our investment in AI Dent is designed to bring that shift closer to Indian dentists and patients. We are focused on building tools that assist dentists in their work and make dental visits simpler and more understandable for patients.” Ishan Dhruva, Founder and Director, AI Dent said, the company brought together dental expertise, deep AI learning and cloud technology to make high-quality diagnostics available. AI Dent is developing AI-based dental imaging and diagnostic tools, including software for image analysis and X-ray interpretation, the note added.
