Anna University and Nemetschek Group India, provider of software for digital transformation in the AEC/O (architecture, engineering, constructions/operations (AEC/O) and media industries, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an AEC Centre of Excellence aimed at enhancing industry readiness for engineering and architecture students.
The initiative is focused on raising awareness about emerging job opportunities and career advancements in core engineering fields such as Civil Engineering and Architecture, addressing concerns over the declining interest in traditional engineering disciplines amidst the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Information Technology (IT), says a release.
Nirmalya Chatterjee, Managing Director, Nemetschek Group India, in the release said the goal is to equip students with the necessary technological expertise and practical knowledge to meet the evolving demands of the industry. The Centre of Excellence will serve as a hub for skill development, ensuring that future engineers and architects are job-ready from day one, says a release.
Professor Shanmuga Sundaram, Director, CUIC, Anna University, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, the MoU with Nemetschek Group India will enable students to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge AEC technologies, thereby enhancing their employability and preparing them for global career opportunities.
